Start in a good side control position with - in this case - your left elbow on the floor against your opponent’s neck.

Slide your right hand across your opponent’s waist, until it is on the other side of his hips.

Grab the material of his gi pants, where his change pocket would be. For the no-gi variation, simple place your hand on the floor to block his hips.

Switch your hips to sit on your left butt cheek, thus replacing your right hand with your left knee.

Reach across to grab the material of his gi pants (on the leg farthest from you), where his cargo pocket would be. For the no-gi variation, place the palm of your hand against this same spot on his leg.

Pull his legs away toward you, collapsing them together.

Step your right leg across to the other side of his waist. Let go of his pants as soon as your leg touches your right arm, so as not to arm bar yourself!
